10 “Be still, and know that I am God;
:: Psalm 46:10 ::
2Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4 Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
:: James 1:2-4 ::
Too often we are scared.
Scared of what people might think if we tried.
We let our fears stand in the way of our hopes.
We say no when we want to say yes.
We sit quietly when we want to scream.
And we shout with others,
when we should be keeping our mouths shut.
After all, we do really only go around once.
There’s really no time to be afraid.
Try something you’ve never tried.
Risk it.
Enter a triathlon.
Write a letter to the editor.
Demand a raise.
Call winners at the toughest court.
Throw away the television.
Bicycle across the United States.
Try bobsledding.
Bungee jump.
Travel to a country where you don’t speak the language.
Patent something.
Call her.
